About Me

me

Hi! My name is Kay van der Lans and I’m a game programmer from the Netherlands. I recently got my bachelor’s degree in Game Development at the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences.

I’m really interested in technological advancements and pushing the boundaries of what is possible with the current hardware that is out there.

Projects

I wish I could write more about my last two projects, but sadly they are under NDA and I won’t be able to tell too much about them.

(NDA)

September 2019 - January 2020

During the VR minor I did, we created a virtual environment for students at the Tata Steel training centre to practice on an installation in a safe environment.

September 2018 - January 2019

A naval combat game developed in 5 months using Unity during my game design semester.

February 2018 - July 2018

An RTS game created during my Game Technology semester which required us to create a game using only a rendering engine in about 20 weeks.

September 2016 - January 2017

During this project I created a co-op pyramid exploration game where the player finds himself locked up inside a pyramid and has to find a way out by solving puzzles and traps.

September 2015 - January 2016

This is the very first game I’ve worked on. It’s an endless runner game with chunk-based procedural level generation and increasing difficulty.
